In recent years the stream of medicine and healing has witnessed a subtle yet strong undercurrent of transformation. Traditional methods of medicine and therapy are increasingly getting replaced by holistic therapy modules. Acupressure, Acupuncture, Reiki Healing and so on are becoming widely accepted holistic methods of healing various illnesses and disorders.
Reiki is originally a Japanese alternative healing module which bases its science on tapping into the unseen “life force energy” that is present in the Universe and also flows through us. This tapping of energy and channelizing it towards and into a patient’s body is done through ‘laying on of hands’. It is not just specified healing device but a holistic one that aims to touch and better the whole person – their body, mind, spirit, emotions. The result is holistic too – healing on physical ailments, mental relaxation, rejuvenation, de-stressing, increased inner peace, sense of security and general overall wellbeing. Reiki has been reported to be extremely efficient in helping against virtually every known illness. On the other hand, it can also be used in conjunction with other mainstream medical processes and alternative therapeutic techniques to promote and speed up recovery and abrogate harmful side effects of certain mainstream treatment methods.
There also are various other Holistic Therapy Courses available all over the world, in fact hundreds of them. Some of the more popular and better known modules are acupressure, acupuncture, ayurveda, aromatherapy, color therapy, pranic healing, hypnotherapy, holistic psychotherapy, theta healing, yoga, crystal therapy, dream work, chakra balancing, regression therapy and inner child therapy. Each of these alternative holistic healing modules focus on the entire human self and addresses both the body, mind and spirit aspects of the client and goes deeper to reach and heal illnesses, disorders and problems from the root level.
The advantage of such alternative holistic healing over mainstream medical methods is this that these are more often, almost hundred percent of them, are devoid of side effects, with the word of caution though, that only if these modules are practiced by and used under a trained professional. The flip side to this is that these lesser known modules may be taken up in not-so-professional manner by people not trained adequately and this may lead either to no visible results and consequent disillusionment of the client and sometimes it even may lead to more complexities with the holistic self. Nevertheless, if used properly, each has been reported to be quite effective up to varying degrees of long term holistic benefits. Each therapy course is a specific and in-depth subject that requires years of training and experience by professionals who then practice them on clients. None of these should be taken up or practiced amateurishly without proper guidance and training just as no mainstream medicine and therapeutic course should be.
