While Reiki has many amazing benefits, there is no denying that it can get very boring, especially for level 1 student. It is compulsory for a level 1 student to practice self Reiki at the beginning and it can feel very uninteresting during the detox period you have to practice on all 26 points.
It is important to go through the process, especially if you are interested in building a successful practice. Constant self Reiki provides a solid foundation for anyone who is serious about the practice. You’ll understand better when you sign up for any of the Reiki Courses and Reiki Treatments in London and Holistic Therapy Courses in London.
Does it get better with time?
It may be nice to hear that it does get better with time; however, that is not necessarily the truth. Whether you have been practicing self Reiki for a few months or a few decades, it can get boring settling into the experience every single morning. It won’t be as exciting as watching a new episode of your favourite TV series or watching your favourite team play a big game. It’s going to feel the same almost every time – quiet and familiar. And even when it does go beyond being on the subtle side, there isn’t much action to be excited about.
How to survive a boring Reiki session
For you to enjoy your Reiki session, you must first discover why you are not enjoying it. You need to ask yourself whether you are being impatient or whether your mind is restless. If you find that you are being impatient, then you should give yourself time to settle and if you find that your mind is being restless, you should also give yourself time to settle.
Another way to go is to accept your practice for what it is by changing your expectations. If Reiki was amazing on the days that you were stressed, perhaps it won’t feel the same on the days that you are not quite as stressed.
You should stop expecting something dramatic and extra special each time you practise self Reiki. If you have resolved to practice Reiki every morning, you might as well savour the session and make the best use of your time.
Another way to go is to power through it. It is certainly better to take your time and go through the motions as required, but if you must, then go ahead to power through it. Doing that is better than skipping practice entirely.
On a final note
No matter how uninterested you may feel in Reiki practice, do your best to concentrate every time and don’t break the chain!
